Plan B X Del The Funkee Homosapien Collabo

Imagine being a twelve your old kid growing up in the 90’s and the only exposure you had to music is essentially all the stuff they played on MTV. That means hip-hop to you is LEN and SNOW. And rock and roll music equals the BARENAKED LADIES and KORN. It’s not until you became a skateboarder did you realize that there’s an entire world of cool music out there. It’s just that they don’t play it on MTV or KISS FM.
That’s exactly how skater kids felt when Plan B’s “The Questionable Video” came out. One second you would be bobbing your head to Naughty By Nature and then head bang to Iron Maiden the next. That’s how eclectic of a soundtrack that skate video provided. And I think it’s thanks to skate videos like these for grooming kids who otherwise would be listening to music closely identified by the color of their skin. I personally would like to thank this video for keeping me from RUMP SHAKER.
Thanks to skaters like Mike Carroll, Del The Funkee Homosapien was introduced to my friends and I. That’s why it’s great to see this new collaboration with the bay area rapper. These Del decks are a limited edition series with different color ways only at the FTC shop in San Francisco.
But I often wonder how today’s PLAN B team’s soundtrack would stack up against the 90’s PLAN B team. Despite him not being on the team anymore, I’m sure Jereme would skate to his own music. P-Rod would probably skate to the GERARDO. And Sheckler would most likely skate to some METHODS OF MAYHEM. I think the 90’s team wins.
