Surfboard Made Of New Composite Material Handles Impact Of Being Run Over By Truck

Getting hit/ran over by a car is a monumental experience; I can tell you this from personal experience. Yes, I have been hit by a car, twice.
The second time I was hit was the one I actually remember. A couple of friends and I had been skating at our local spot and I had actually landed my 1st heelflip over the “Blockbuster Gap” (this was quite a big deal because I am not a very good skater). To celebrate I had ran to the local pizzeria to get a Hawaiian Snow , in the process of getting the frosty treat, my friends ditched me, (this is where the story gets good). To catch up with them I jaywalked across one of the busiest streets in my hometown, that’s when I got hit by what felt like a freight train. The freight train was actually a Honda Civic driven by a tearful young asain man.
I woke up face down in the street, one shoe off, covered in Hawaiian Snow. It sounds really horrible but was actually funny because my shoe had been thrown 50ft from where I was. I was bummed that I had spilled my treat and got up to dust myself off. In the process of dusting off, I started laughing because the driver of the car was more upset than I was; he was full on crying like a baby. I consoled him a bit then went on my way.
This surfboard got hit by car and survived, just like me: If you’ve ever seen a surfboard run over by a truck before, you know what the typical result is—total destruction. Well, there’s a new composite material being released by Inegrity called “INNEGRA S” that might change that.
The company hasn’t released much information yet as far as how this material will be apllied to surfboards, but it does say that it will reduce weight, increase toughness, and replace fiberglass and carbon fiber without adding cost. The development is still in “the infancy stages”, but look for it in stores soon.
