If you’re confused by the headline, you’re probably as confused as I am. Why would anyone with one of the hottest teams, sickest skateboard style, crap load of sponsors, and most admired FACES quit the game? The last time I was this perplexed was when I found out through the grapevine that Don Knotts quit THREES COMPANY. But everyone has his or her reasons. So I guess it’s true. Jereme Rogers has quit professional skateboarding.
Jereme tweeted on his Friendster page, “Yes I am officially retired. Official Retirement Party for Me tonight at Area, click default pic for details. Thanks to everyone who’s supported me throughout my career, God bless you. It’s been a great journey & I wouldn’t change a detail about it.”
Although he is young, I’m willing to bet my POG collection that Jereme will come back to skateboarding. Those really talented individuals who have quit their jobs in the past have always come back. Michael Jordan came back to basketball. Jay-Z came back to rapping. And everyone knows that FLEMMING DAVANGER came out of retirement to continue his prestigious CURLING career. Besides, he better come back because when his cash dries up, what will he do? Work at McDonalds?
