Nike 6.0 BMX Event In Huntington Beach July 23-26

When I was 9 years old I entered a pie eating contest at my Dad’s work picnic; and by doing so, I entered one of the greatest challenges of my life. In order to get my brother and I stoked for what was going to be a super boring employee picnic my dad read off all the contests and prizes; my brother being the more athletic one of the family chose the 3 legged race with its $50 cash prize as soon as my Father said it. In my brother’s footsteps I also hastily chose my completion, the completion of competitive eating.
When we arrived to the park for the picnic I already started getting nervous of what was ahead, and with nervous energy I developed a plan. My plan consisted of not eating or drinking the entire day, not a single hot dog or coke, nothing. I also decided that a couple of laps around the park would help out my stamina in eating. It seemed like we were there for a minute until I heard the lady yell “All pie eating contestants to the stage please”.
As we lined up behind the table where the pies were waiting, I sized up my competition and the dude next to me scared me the most. The guy was wiry, bald, and drunk; by his looks I knew my dreams of victory were done. The bell rang and we started eating, a half of a pie in and my bald friend didn’t look too hot. The bald guy started sweating, sweating lead to heaving, heaving lead to vomiting, vomiting lead to me bailing after watching the dude puke straight up in the air and watching it land right on his bald head.
Vomit on the head means my championship run was over and I split.
Hopefully this contest works out better:
