“National Lampoon’s European Vacation” is one of the best memories of my childhood. It is a film starring Chevy Chase as Clark W. Griswold. Clark and his family are on a game show and win an all expenses paid trip to Europe. You must be thinking big deal, another 80’s comedy road trip film, well my friend you are wrong. First Chevy Chase is actually funny (which doesn’t happen very much any more); the supporting cast is really funny especially the fat daughter; and Beverly D’Angelo isn’t a water buffalo like she is on “Entourage”.
The best part of “European Vacation” is when the Griswold family travels to Germany; In one day: their teenage son makes out with a fox who shows him her awesome German gifts, they go to a beer fest where Clark gets in a slapping match with some German dude, and get run out of town by all the townsfolk. If you haven’t seen this film you are missing out.
BIG IN BAVARIA is not only about the most important names in BMX. Also the dirt jumps are about to beat most of the things ever seen before. The head of course construction – BMX pro Markus Hampl – uses over 2.000 tons of dirt for 180 meters (about 200 yards) of pure riding pleasure. The course building starts in the beginning of June and the shapers will sweat for almost a month. The eight meters (about 25 feet) high wooden starting tower provides the proper speed you need for the huge doubles. Some sections of the BIG IN BAVARIA track feature two parallel dirt lines, which enable the riders to take challenging transfers. Due to an overall prize money fund of 20.000 Euros, hard battles between the riders as well as lots of airtime, the craziest tricks and the sickest combos are guaranteed.
