Wetsuit Makes You Look Like Shark Food

Given all the recent attention given to surfers being attacked by Sharks all over the coastal United States. I don’t know what kind of judgment to put out on these recent photos we saw from Dutch designer Diddo Velema. The whole lets look like I’m walking around with only my muscles, because my skin got shred by the Hell blazer. You older dudes all know what Kind of Pinhead reference I’m making here. So, it’s either a tongue in cheek matter of joking about the dark side of surfing. The flip side would be hey is my muscle part of my Wang still there. It’s anyone’s guess if you were wearing that wetty with the muscle designs all over it.

Dido Velma went on the mantra of why all wetsuits have to look the same. I don’t know. Maybe it’s because Black is good for heat insulation. No one who is trying to rip waves is going to care about how cool they look, if they aren’t working on footwork and wave vision when they are out there in the ocean. So at least looking at this wetsuits, they work, and look awesomely weird. Just the right touch of weird.

The first edition contains four original designs: a rusted iron diving suit evoking the days of Jules Verne, the anatomic musculature suit as a homage to our inner strength, a wet suit which gives the illusion that the wearer has been attacked by a group of hungry sharks and finally a whale shark patterned suit that celebrates the idiocy of trying to be a shark, till one bites you in the ass.
