“Jewel of the Nile” is the sequel to “Romancing the Stone” where Jack and Joan have their yacht and easy life, but are gradually getting bored with each other and their way of life. Joan accepts an invitation to go to some middle eastern country as a guest of the sheik, but there she is abducted and finds herself involved with the “jewel”. Jack decides to rescue her with his new partner Ralph. They all go from one adventure to another… What is the story of this “jewel”?
The best thing about this film is not the cuteness of DANNY DEVITO, or the masculine and baritone voice of Kathleen Turner; It is the hit single “When the Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going” by Billy Ocean. If you haven’t heard this song sung by Billy Ocean; then my friend, you haven’t lived.
Kelly Slater and a new other associates have created an organization called SURFING FOR PEACE. The organizations goal is to initiate unique cooperative projects, events, and campaigns based around surfing and beach culture with an emphasis on coexistence, cross-cultural dialogue, and the shared surfing experience. Their main focus is the war torn area of the Gaza strip and improving Israeli-Arab relations in the area though surfing.
With a huge name like Kelly Slater there should be no problem turning this organization into a successful project for peace, just like how “Jewel of the Nile” was a project in awesome.
