Protown USA is finally getting recognized for its contributions to BMX. Many riders call the town of Greenville in North Carolina home, where they reside and train year-round (Dave Mirra, anyone?). For the first time, the amateur Gatorade Free Flow Tour is stopping at the city’s Jaycee Extreme Park to hold a stop on the BMX park competition. It’s about time and well deserved… That’s like never having the Grammys in Motown. Come to think of it…
The 2009 BMX schedule also includes the addition of top parks in Milwaukee, Muncie, Ind. and Mt. Hood, Ore, along with some of the returning favorites like the Autumn Ramp Park in Joplin, Mo. and The Compound in Perris, Calif.
There are going to be 33 skateboard comps across the country as well (five of those are Vert, the rest Park).
