Vikings Are Now Integral to the Shoe Design Process

Shoes used to be pretty simple. Cavemen would walk barefoot, or wrap rags or animal skins around their feet. Then humans took that to the next level, where they made shoes and wore them. If you had a pair of shoes you wore them till they fell off your feet. Nowadays we have people who wait outside of stores in the elements for footwear. Sometimes people even camp out for these prized pieces of limited edition shoes. It started out with people wearing vintage footwear. After that source was plundered to depleting stocks, Footwear companies started to reissue these shoes. Kanye West is designing shoes, Paris Hilton is designing shoes for the future whores of the world, and Nike now has decided to allow Viking metal gods into the mix.
Nike 6.0 the action division has gotten together with 3 Inches of Blood, the Canadian Super Heavy Metal Band. Together they birthed out of their creative uterus the Blood On Core High. The band has many fans that are athletes in the Action sports world.
If you look at the photos, it just looks like they let a D&D expert make shoes for the band that is simply manufactured by NIKE. Yeah the “uppers are constructed from premium distressed battle-worn leather” actual words from the Project guys at NIKE. Are you kidding me, what battle where these shoes put in? Some LAIRE fantasy project in the community park? Or were they really shipped to Iraq and put on somebody’s feet. Then UPS back to America? It’s got smidgens of Viking Folklore worked into the colors and custom materials. I must say the shoes look nice, but I think NIKE is starting to take it too far…
