Koston And Lakai Part Ways

The title alone makes for a good April Fool’s joke but it looks like this isn’t the case. Was it a joke when The Beatles decided to go separate ways? Did you find it funny when SHAQ & KOBE could no longer play together? How did you feel the day when JONATHAN TAYLOR THOMAS (JTT) decided to leave the hit show HOME IMPROVEMENT to pursue a career in film? Not very happy I’m sure. Well today is one of those days.
I wish I could say this is a belated April Fools prank, but unfortunately that isn’t the case. As of today, Eric Koston will no longer be a part of LAKAI FOOTWEAR. Lakai and Koston have arrived at this decision mutually and believe it will ultimately create a better situation for all parties involved. But I personally won’t believe it until I see Koston on a new shoe team, which will lead everyone to believe he left for a lot more money. But everything in the video points to the Lakai team attempting to pull one over the eyes of the entire skate industry. Just look at the clues.
1. The fact that Koston seems to be reciting lines off a memorized sheet of scrap paper as he announces his departure.
2. Koston is a staple of Lakai Footwear and it would seem preposterous to leave a team with all your friends especially when he’s one of the team’s best skaters.
3. Most of the journalist are wearing flannel. That’s just not realistic.
