The etnies Team Hangs Out With Skid Row (Not The Band)

When was the last time you displayed some sort of act of kindness?  Destroying your sister’s NICKELBACK CD just because you couldn’t stand the dude’s voice doesn’t count either.  Actually when you think about it, most of us are always looking out for one thing: ourselves.  I once learned from an old wise man named HALEY JOEL OSMENT that if you just PAY IT FORWARD, the good things in live will come naturally to you.  And there’s no better gift than the gift of giving.  That is unless your mom bought you a microchip X-BOX 360 complete with “Bio Shock”, “The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion”, and “Halo 3”.  Man, nothing can beat that.  But charity is pretty cool too.

As you can see in the example of etnies Shoes who over the last decade has flowed more than 25,000 pairs of shoes to homeless people living in Los Angeles!  I don’t think there are even that many rollerbladers in L.A.  The current tough economic times have led to the rise of homeless people, and today Pierre Andre and a crew from etnies hung out with the Skid Row residents.  etnies teamed up with the Los Angeles Mission to break through some of the doom and gloom, and provide more than 2,000 men, women and kids with a hot meal and a brand new pair of etnies shoes.

“In these tough economic times, there is more reason than ever to help those in need and give back to the causes that touch your heart – for me this is the Los Angeles Mission,” said etnies owner Pierre Andre Senizergues (pictured above).

“In these tough economic times, there is more reason than ever to help those in need and give back to the causes that touch your heart – for me this is the Los Angeles Mission,” said etnies owner Pierre Andre Senizergues.  “For over 10 years my team and I have donated thousands of shoes to the homeless on Skid Row and this year will be no different.  Not only because the need will be greater, but because it is this small contribution that can make a difference in someone’s life.”

“I’ve actually wanted a pair of etnies and you guys showing up down here and giving us a pair of new shoes is awesome,” said Adam Vickman, Skid Row local.

This happy mom and kids are enjoying new etnies.  This year more families have taken up residence on Skid Row, and over the last few months the Mission has seen a 10% increase in people coming in for meals and services.
