I’m not sure if the kids today in the midst of all their Jonas Brothers music, Power Rangers television shows, violence from Grand Theft Auto video games, and their love for OLSEN TWINS movies have the time to take a breather sit down and relax to a good book.  I know that millions of kids (and adults) around the world follow the Harry Potter series but I personally never became a fan for PERSONAL REASONS.  So with the soon to be released WHERE THEY WILD THINGS ARE, directed by one of the great living directors in Spike Jonze, how many kids today will relate to this timeless story.  Well you know what?  It doesn’t matter because there are millions of adults who will.  It’s amazing an adaptation hasn’t been done before.  But with a three minute trailer just over the horizon, I can speak for millions of people when I say, “Dis is going to be da shiz-nit!”

Just to give a brief synopsis, the story is about a little boy named Max who just like many of us, creates trouble around the house.  I did it my Mr. T briefs.  After Max is punished and sent to his room with out dinner, a crazy acid trip of a world begins.  Sorry kids, you’re just going to have to see it for yourselves.

A full 3-minute trailer for Spike Jonze’s big screen adaptation of Where The Wild Things Are will screen in front of DreamWorks Animation’s Monsters vs. Aliens, that hits theaters on March 27th 2009. Scored to the song Wake Up by Arcade Fire, a scooper over on CHUD describes the trailer as “beyond the most grandiose superlatives: ‘beautiful’ and ‘gorgeous’ and ‘breathtaking’”, calling the environments “a work of incredible vision” and the finalized monsters “some kind of incredible technical achievement”, “nothing short of real and feel very alive and very, very huggable.” I’ve been waiting for this movie since I was a little kid, and I can’t explain how excited I am just reading a vague description of a trailer.
