NY Times Explains Rob Dyrdek & Carl’s Jr. Relationship.  I’m sure you’ve already seen the CARL’S JR. spot featuring Rob Dyrdek decked out in a dope Happy Star costume.  You’re probably asking yourself, “What would one of skateboarding’s leaders/moguls want to do with a fast food chain?  Especially one that closely identifies with DOUCHEBAGS?  Well it turns out that fast food whether it be McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy’s, are all having a difficult time trying to crack into the teenage market.  It also turns out the teenage market is paying more attention to online and alternative forms of advertising such as the VIRAL VIDEO.  And that is why Carl’s Jr. along with Rob Dyrdek’s help, created THIS

You might be thinking two things after watching that spot.  One: what’s going on with Rob’s legs when he falls off the wire?  They looks lifeless; sort of like a dummy.  And two: Rob’s such a sellout.  He would wear that silly suit just to make a crap load of cash.  Well to sum up the article, he did the spot in trade for a nice donation to his skate park.  And Rob gives so much back not just to the skate community, but to the regular community and it’s citizens.  Did you know that his latest skate plaza right next to MACARTHUR PARK used to be Ghetto Central?  My friend back in the day bought his fake U.S. passport there.  Not to mention just recently, armed guards attacked peaceful PROTESTORS.  Rob is really helping the community.  He’s like a modern Gandhi .

Anyways, the NY TIMES article mentions that 3.5 million Rob Dyrdek cups sold out in a little over a month.  And it’s not until I read this article did I remember that I had 3 Carl’s Jr. cups in my fridge autographed by Rob Dyrdek himself.  If you want to win one, you have one simple task:  Send me a YOUTUBE clip of yourself doing a parody of the Rob Dyrdek Happy Star dance.  I know, I know I’m so original.  The best three that makes me laugh will get a cup.  We’ll post the best Happy Star Dances.
