Rookie Michel Bourez faces Australian Dayyan Neve in the elimination Round 2.

After several days off, the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast is about ready to hit the water with Round Two.  Conditions aren’t ideal (2-3 feet) but the contest needs to keep moving in order to be completed within the holding period.  There have been a total of six lay days since the period began, and the Roxy Pro, running in conjunction with the Quik Pro, has had five.

In yesterday’s action, the Roxy Pro was able to complete several rounds through the Semis, and the contest is on hold with a possible finish today.  In the semis, world champ Stephanie Gilmore will take on Paige Hareb and two Hawaiians will face off in the second match, rookie Coco Ho and veteran Melanie Bartels.
