Do you remember a long time ago when this contest called the Roxy Gold Coast was supposed to take place at Duranbah Beach? I can hardly remember but that’s because I’ve been too preoccupied following the heartbreaking saga known as the BACHELOR. What a A-Hole! How could someone do that!
Well anyway, the Roxy Pro Gold is back, finally, with round 2. The opening event of the 2009 ASP Women’s World Tour season will continue after they completed Round 1 last Monday. Since then, the surfers have just been paying attention to important news events, i.e. the Bachelor.
“Conditions are clean this morning and while the points don’t have too much on offer, D’Bah has some good, little waves this morning,” Rod Brooks, Roxy Pro Gold Coast Contest Director, said. “We’ll be starting with the women’s Round 2 at 7:15am with Round 3 and the Quarterfinals on standby. No men’s competition will be held today.”
Sofia Mulanovich (PER), 25, former ASP Women’s World Champion and defending Roxy Pro Gold Coast winner, will take on veteran Jacqueline Silva (BRA), 29, and trials winner Ashleigh Smith (AUS), 20, in the opening heat of Round 2 beginning at 7:15am.
The Roxy Pro Gold Coast will be webcast LIVE via www.roxypro.com.au
