Long are the days when kids from all corners of this planet rush to their boutique sneaker store to stand in line for 12 hours just to get a limited edition of some Nike sneaker that would later be turned around on Ebay for triple the retail price. Long are the days when companies like NIKE would make every single colorway known to man just so that the market would experience an influx of a brand that would later be synonymous with swap meet shoes. And gone are the days when THESE would fill not just sneaker stores, but Footlocker.
Actually those days aren’t gone at all. But there has been a sudden shift in how street kids sport their silhouette. Since the demise of the streetwear moon boot sneaker craze, fanatics have turned their backs on the overly complex, dramatically high tech, and just simply fugly tennis shoe, and in relatively recent times have embraced the more simplistic, not overly saturated, men’s shoe. It goes to show that yesterday’s CLOWN is evolving into a modern man of today.
If you read this in time and you live in the Los Angeles area with traffic in mind, try to make it out for the Huf DVS release party for the long awaited Doughboy. I’ve been waiting for these for quite some time now, and the most important thing of all, they’re cheap! Maybe not as cheap as the WINO’s you can buy at K-Mart but cheap for what they are.
