Enjoi Just Another Skateboard Art Show

That was a cute play on words there by ENJOI. But that is not what caught my attention. The flyer with all the “Hipster” insignia is what really caught my eye. Why? Because it really got me thinking about the stigma behind hipsters and those who are called hipsters. Personally I love hipsters and I wouldn’t mind being called one myself. I guess what I’m trying to say is that I wish I were a hipster. Why? Because I view them as the modern day hippie/beat generation. Of course all of you know what a hippie is. You know: long hair (sometimes dreaded), blackened feet from dirt, hair armpits for girls, hairy everything for guys, and earth loving human beings. And who wouldn’t want to come from the BEAT era? Gas wouldn’t be a problem for them.
That’s why I love ENJOI. They’re the ultimate hipster skate team. And the flyer says it all. I think it symbolizes the military and how they like to write the words “hipster” over their eyes. Beautiful.
If you would like to experience more social commentary such as pieces like this, go check out their skate art show on April 1st at the HVWB Art + Design Gallery. Not to mention a team signing on Sunday, March 8th from 1PM – 3PM. Check out the flyer for all the details.
