Next week when the SWATCH TTR World Snowboard Tour continues along for their 6Star competition in Oslo Norway, I want you to remember two things. One, you’re not a true diehard fan and you’re pretty stupid unless you show up to this event considering it’s the most prestigious contest of the series. And two, you’re not that stupid if you don’t have to be a diehard fan if you watch it live on FREECASTER.tv, the best source for everything live (I use the service to watch MIDGET THROWING in Austria).
The event goes down on February 16th to the 21st as the world’s biggest hitters go up against each other, battling for a piece of the $100,000 dollar purse and not only that; there are 1000 TTR ranking points that are crucial this late in the game. So what I’m saying is that it’s all or nothing. Go big or go home. Today’s the first day of the rest of your life. Every moment that passes is another opportunity lost. Insert cliché HERE.
The Swatch TTR Top 10 has been in a state of constant flux throughout the season and it is now or never for competitors to stake their claims for the Title. Finnish powerhouse and current TTR World No.1, Peetu Piiroinen, has been dominating throughout the season and is no stranger to monster Quarterpipes. Piiroinen will no doubt be looking to further his lead in Norway and edge himself closer to the Swatch TTR Title.
Also out of Finland, current World No. 3 Risto Matilla will fight hard to defend his rank against 2007 and 2008’s TAC winner and current TTR World No. 6 Kevin Pearce (USA) who, just like the year before, has the chance take over Risto’s ranking position with a good result in Oslo. A win may even push the 07/08 Swatch TTR Tour Champion into World No. 2, an excellent position to chase after back-to-back world titles at the Burton U.S Open in March. Antti Autti who currently sits in World No. 9 and completes the Finnish trio is expected to bring his transition skills to Oslo, aiming for a spot in the TTR Top 5.
Freecaster.tv will be featuring this amazing event LIVE. On Thursday February 16th we will be showing the highest air, hoping that Terje’s record of 9,8m will be challenged. On Saturday February 21st you can tune in for the finals LIVE. Jonathan Weaver and Matt Crowhurst will be your hosts again in our studio.
