2009 X Dance Award Winning Film “Chasing Waves” Featured On “The Daily Habit”

It’s not quite POINT BREAK and it’s a lot better than SURF NINJAS (I’m assuming) so it’s probably somewhere in between. I haven’t seen the X Dance award winning film, Chasing Waves” but I’m sure it’s somewhere more along the lines of “The Endless Summer”.
Actually, “Chasing Waves” is the story about Dede Suryana, a surfer from Indo. The film tells the story of Dede’s struggle to become the first Asian to qualify for the WCT, something he is still trying to accomplish. This is definitely a story I can relate to. As the only Asian American at the LATIN AMERICAN IDOL tryouts, I felt that my chances were slim to none. Actually I was right.
But hopefully Dede’s chances are better than mine. Today, the 2008 ISC Indo Champ and star of the 2009 X Dance Award winning “Chasing Waves”, Dede Suryana joins The Habit with the filmmaker behind “Chasing Waves”, Dave Arnold. Also, Chris Cote goes to the 2009 X-Dance Film Festival and catches Dede, Paul and Travis Rice riding the tide of film fest victory,
