For those of you involved in the fashion industry or would like to get into fashion, there are several ways you can create the clothes you want to release for your line. One way is to obviously create the clothes from scratch, which is also the most difficult and time-consuming method. That means going out to the garment district, choosing your patterns, make all the dimensions, and sewing all the clothes together by hand. Another way is an upgraded and more efficient way that the one just mentioned. You create the piece of clothing and after that’s done, you use it as a template so that every other piece of clothing created will be based off that one piece. And the easiest method of creating a product is by going to China town; any China town in the world, choose a sample off the wall, and tell them to put your company’s name on 10,000 pieces of that product.
I think PLAN B went with the last method in creating their new (not very innovatively designed) skate shoe. I think now that Nike owns Converse, Plan B had an entire warehouse full of samples to choose from. But in fairness to Plan B, there are many other shoe designs that have the more simplistic aesthetic that Converse has stayed true to for so many years. And who’s to say that Converse wasn’t influence by ADIDAS ROD LAVER sneaker? Plus I think the Plan B shoe is pretty nice. Just didn’t think they would design a shoe in this fashion.
