Corey Ziems Making A Comeback At Quicksilver Pro Qualifiers

Corey Ziems will be making his comeback debut on February 27th for the Quicksilver Pro Trials at Snapper Rocks.  This will be the first time Corey will be competing since his backbreaking wipeout at the Banzai Pipeline lat December.  He will be one of 16 surfers battling out for the sole wildcard spot at the Quicksilver Pro. 

“My main aim of going in the QCC last year was to qualify for the trials. It’d be amazing to make the main event. I still have some time (before the trials) but I am definitely competing.  I’m only just back in the water and I’m surfing at fifty or sixty per cent but that’s to be expected..” said Ziems

Corey last year suffered a compound fracture to his L1 vertebrae last year.  This caused his vertebrae to be 30% smaller but his healing is progressing quickly. 

The US $340,000 Quiksilver Pro presented by LG will commence on Saturday February 28th and run through to March 11th.
