There are plenty of great films making their way to Salt Lake City as we speak and it’s not because the Mormon Church decided to uncensor R-rated films. The “Uniquely” Oakley Movie will be honored this weekend at the annual X-Dance Film Festival in Salt Lake City. “Uniquely” is a travel inspired women’s multi-sport (snowboard, ski, surf, skate, and wake) film that exposes the “unique” personalities and lifestyles of the athletes involved as they pass the baton, or camera, from one location to the next. I’m not sure if these gals want any special attention or spotlight, but I think it’s safe to say that they prefer the great outdoors than a walk down tacky Melrose Ave.
The adventurous tales of dedicated Oakley athletes including Claudia Goncalves, Gretchen Bleiler, Karina Petroni, Lauren Perkins, Layne Beachley, Leilani Gryde, Lyn-z Adams Hawkins and Marie-France Roy are highlighted.
For one action-packed week each winter, the world’s top action sport filmmakers and athletes, along with cutting-edge bands, DJs and key figures from the entertainment industry, gather in Salt Lake City to celebrate action sports culture. This four-day film festival will screen 35 of the finest films in adventure and action sports, including the “Uniquely” Oakley Movie. Engaging Q&A sessions follow each screening giving the audience a chance to meet the filmmakers and icons from their favorite sports!
