Surfing With God

Seeing God or feeling one with God must be a special thing. The number of God apparitions has risen every year and these visions can be attributed to people from all four corners of the world. Over a decade ago, a little girl in Berlin claims to have seen God when she was put under during surgery. And just this year, a man found the image of Jesus Christ on a peanut and sold it on Ebay for about 10 grand. Seems that being chosen for such an honor can also be profitable.
Surfers in the So-Cal area had an opportunity to see Jesus as well, surfing! Not exactly Jesus but a priest named Father Matthew Munoz (not to get him mixed up with Frankie Muniz) who kind of looks like Jesus, or a Silverlake hipster at least. But this priest isn’t from Silverlake; he’s from Orange County and he heads the OC’s St. Iraenaeus Catholic Church by which he hosted a day of surfing and blessing of the waves in Huntington Beach.
“May they hang 10 on thy oceanic bounty and, if it be in accordance with thy gnarly plan, may they not wipe out,” Munoz concluded. I wonder if God understands him.
Munoz also brought his friends along. Mr. Fawad Yacoob from the Islamic Society of Orange County and Reverend Christian Mondor who all enjoyed the waves together along with 50 spectators. I think that the ASP World Tour should put Father Munoz on the payroll, that way there would be no off days. Read the Father Matthew Munoz over CBS News.
