For all of you out there who don’t think of longboards as true skateboards (you’re not alone), maybe you should be writing the LA Times, which just did a long story about how longboards are “newly cool” and finding fans “of all ages.”

My favorite part has to be about how a guy lost 60 pounds coasting around LA on his longboard, or the 43-year-old who said it’s “so comfortable” to ride around places.

For a good time read more here.

  1. One Response to “Longboarding: The Next Skateboarding?”

  2. Why the hate on longboards? It’s not like longboarding in surfing where the kooks who can’t surf to begin with can literally rip your head off with the boat they’re riding. Sector 9 boards (and whomever else makes longboards) are fun and they don’t hurt anyone else or take up space (unlike surfing). Quit hatin’!
