Billabong Eco Surf Festival Kicks Off In Brazil

The 5-Star Billabong Eco Surf Festival in Praia Do Forted Brazil kicks off today with some one-to-two foot breakers.  Brazilian Adriano de Souza who had an amazing first heat at the ASP event went on to the next round but it was his fellow countryman Hizunome Bettero who not only advanced to the next round but lead the other 48 surfers in points, especially American Patrick Gudauskas who previously held the lead. 

“I have been working on this for the last 3 years and my time had to come,” Bettero said. “It seems like things are happening my way this year and I hope I can get a great result in this contest. I want to qualify before the end of the year when the World Tour guys that are not well placed run after results in the WQS. There will be the European and Brazilian leg which I usually do good, so I believe I will achieve my dream to be on the ASP World Tour.”
