Adidas Skate Team In China

About 12 years ago my friends and I took a skate tour across the country. Actually it was only to Vegas and it was our first road trip so we thought it was a big deal. A Chinese kid from school named Sam Lim gave us a Dodge Dart for the price of buying him a gas cap for the Dart. Basically we took that Dart and stopped at every little city between Victorville and Baker. It was amazing the kinds of reactions we got from people who rarely got to see skateboarding. They were truly and genuinely disgusted with us. An old mechanic from Yermo kicked us off his ledge. Teenage punks from Barstow tried to jack our boards. So we didn’t feel too welcomed.

But the Adidas Skate team had an entirely different experience when they went to China for a tour of the country. Like us, they skated for an audience who rarely got any exposure to skating. Fortunately for them, they got a positive reaction. Just watch the video at Adidas and see the faces shine.
